I know California is not the only state that has ramp meters, but I never saw this in Texas. In case you don’t know, a ramp meter is a stop light at the end of an on-ramp before you get onto the highway. It’s supposed to regulate the number of cars trying to get on at the same time. It’s a nice idea in theory. Does it work? Not so much. I’ve been here almost two years. I didn’t expect it to be as good as it was. I also didn’t expect it to speak to me the way it did. I went through a phase at the beginning of this year where I did a lot of self portraits.
